This brings to an end a complex situation that has been resolved to the satisfaction of all parties involved through public-private collaboration.
Xallas Electricidad y Aleaciones, XEAL, and Portos de Galicia have signed a collaboration agreement that supports the reestablishment of the pilotage service for the commercial ports of Costa da Morte of Brens (Cee ), Corcubión and Laxe, in addition to that of Sada.
The agreement signed between Portos de Galicia and XEAL is the result of negotiations in which both the company and the public entity have worked hand-in-hand to find a solution to a complex situation that has now been resolved to the satisfaction of all parties.
The steps taken by the Port Administration, supported by Xeal, guarantee the new pilot an income that will be covered by Portos and XEAL. Furthermore, the company will be able to resume the unloading raw materials and loading of finished products and this essential service will once more be available for the Costa da Morte's commercial ports and ships of more than 500 GTs.
The public-private partnership contributed to the resumption of the service on February 24, coinciding with the arrival of the first ship at the port of Brens since activity was interrupted.
