Since January 2022, Xallas Electricidad y Aleaciones, S.A.U. has applied the provincial collective bargaining agreement for the iron and steel industry in the province of A Coruña, since the negotiation process for Xeal's 13th Collective Bargaining Agreement ended without agreement. The application of the provincial agreement was ratified by the court of A Coruña and the Galician High Court, confirming that the company agreement was no longer valid.

The company has always aspired to having its own collective bargaining agreement, adapted to the current times, and which would place Xeal within the framework of modern and sustainable organizational principles. In this sense, at the end of November, at the request of the union sections with majority representation in the company, UGT and CGT,  a negotiation proposal was submitted, which included signatures of support from the majority of Xeal's workers and the points for negotiation. The company accepted this proposal, as it complied with the legal requirements, and a negotiation committee was established with all the union sections of Xeal and a negotiation calendar was set for December.

After several meetings, on December 21, the company and the CGT, UGT and USO unions signed a pre-agreement for Xeal's First Collective Bargaining Agreement.

The formalization of Xeal's Collective Bargaining Agreement agreed by the Company, on the one hand, and CGT, UGT and USO on the other (the majority union representation of Xeal's workers), was only subject to the necessary approvals by the aforementioned union sections and Xeal's Management Committee.
