The Mayor of Dumbría, Mr. José Manuel Pequeño, and the Corporate Director of Xallas Electricidad y Aleaciones, XEAL, María Couto, met this Wednesday, June 9, in Dumbría Town Hall, to sign a collaboration agreement for the financing of part of the works to repair and improve the road that connects the parish of Olveira with the Fervenza reservoir.

XEAL will provide about 50,000 euros to finance improvement works to a 900-meter section of the road that connects the town of Olveira with the Fervenza reservoir, consisting of the opening of over-widenings and box excavations that will improve the quality of communication and, therefore, road safety.

For XEAL, sustainability and environmental compliance are paramount. Thus, this renovation work responds to the company's interest in creating shared value through the responsible development of its activities in accordance with the 2030 sustainability commitment and its ESG policy.

XEAL uses this road daily to access the Xallas River hydroelectric plants of Fervenza I and II and Ponte Olveira.

This road is also frequently used by the residents of Olveira for access to their agricultural plots, as well as for communication with Vilafernández and its leisure area.

José Manuel Pequeño, Mayor of Dumbría, stated that "this type of collaboration is very important for both the Council and its residents and in this particular case will contribute to significantly improving the daily life and safety of the residents of Olveira".
