Cee, July 31, 2020.- Cee and Dumbría local authorities, as well as the non-profit organizations Red Cross and Caritas, have joined the solidarity initiative launched by XEAL, Xallas Electricidad y Aleaciones. The #DOA €x€ campaign consists of donations by company employees and the company itself to help the most vulnerable groups of society and small businesses on A Costa da Morte, two of the groups most affected by the coronavirus pandemic.


To date, XEAL employees have already donated more than 3,000 euros, a figure that the company has also contributed to the #DOA €x€ campaign, bringing the total to over 6,000 euros.


The money obtained will be distributed in the form of "vouchers" that can be redeemed at more than sixty establishments on A Costa da Morte adhered to the solidarity campaign.

Help will be provided in two ways:  on the one hand, to the most needy and vulnerable groups; and, on the other hand, to the area's small shops and businesses which have been severely affected during the COVID-19 lockdown. 


Margarita Lamela, Mayor of Cee, said: "I would like to thank Xeal and its workers for their commitment to the most vulnerable group's and to Cee's retailers".


In turn, José Manuel Pequeño, Mayor of Dumbría, pointed out that "all possible help is welcome to contribute to improving the situation of the most needy and small entrepreneurs".


The amount raised to date was handed over today as "vouchers" to the Cee and Dumbría local authorities and Red Cross and Caritas organiations for distribution. This initiative will continue until September 2020.


María Couto, XEAL's CEO, commented that "our intention is to continue collaborating, within our possibilities, to alleviate the economic and social effects caused by the pandemic".
