- XEAL REMAINS FIRMLY COMMITTED TO TRAINING AS PART OF ITS VALUES AND DETERMINATION TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE FUTURE OF THE AREA IT OPERATES IN.
XEAL's CEO, María Couto, met this morning with more than 40 students from the first two years of high school and the first year of the higher vocational training course in Administration and Finance from the Fernando Blanco de Lema High School to establish an open and participatory dialogue offering an in-depth vision of concepts such as equal opportunities in the workplace, work-life balance and training modalities, among other aspects.
Also participating in the debate were Adriana Trillo, Instrumentation and Control Engineer in the Automation Department of the Energy Area at XEAL, and Diana Touriñán, responsible for logistics, raw material purchases and finished product sales at the Cee-Dumbría plants. Drawing on their personal and professional experience, they contributed to a dialogue designed to drive vocations and awareness of equal opportunities.
Firm commitment to training in the region
With this initiative, the company wishes to continue to promoting its commitment to ESG (Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance) criteria, corporate social responsibility and the future of the area.
As part of its firm commitment to training, XEAL has signed collaboration agreements with the Fernando Blanco High School, the University of A Coruña (UDC) and the University of Vigo (UVigo). One student from the Universidade da Coruña (UDC) and 3 from Fernando Blanco High School are currently undertaking internships at Xeal.
Xeal also signed an agreement with the Regional Ministry of Culture, Education and Universities for the implementation of a dual vocational training system at the Fernando Blanco High School for a vocational course leading to a qualification Automation and Industrial Robotics. The teaching phase, which has already begun, will end on August 31, 2023. As of April 2022, Xeal will provide training for a total of 8 students on this course.
María Couto, XEAL's CEO, stressed the need "to collaborate in the motivation and practical training of young people who are going to join the labor market. We are committed to our ESG criteria and collaborating in the practical training of the next generations to join the labor market is a key part of this commitment".
